Sports Picks (sports.dawgtech.net) is a pick'em site for friends and family, run by Dawgtech. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google — nothing else (no contacts, mail, files or calendar).
- Password. If you create a password, we store only a salted, one-way hash of it, never the password itself.
- What you do on the site. Your picks, scores, group memberships, chat messages, and the optional first name, last name and nickname on your profile.
- Technical data. A sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in, and a theme preference stored in your browser. Our hosting provider records standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
Only to run the site: to sign you in, show your picks and standings to the groups you belong to, send account emails (sign-in links and password resets), and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party analytics or tracking.
Who can see it
- Members of a group can see your display name, your standings (how many picks you made, how many were correct, and your points) and your chat messages in that group. Your individual picks are shown only to you.
- Group and site administrators can manage memberships and moderate chat.
- Service providers that host the site: Cloudflare (hosting and database) and Google (only if you choose to sign in with Google). Game schedules and scores come from ESPN; none of your data is sent to ESPN.
Storage and retention
Data is stored with Cloudflare, with a nightly backup kept on Dawgtech-owned servers. We keep your account until you ask us to delete it. Backups are retained for up to 60 days.
Your choices
You can change your profile at any time. To get a copy of your data or delete your account, email sports@dawgtech.net from the address on your account. If you signed in with Google, you can also remove Sports Picks' access in your Google Account settings.
Children
Sports Picks is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
